Mary E. Doust, 91, passed away Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Saint Anne Randallia Place, Fort Wayne. Mary was born in Fort Wayne August 17, 1925, the fifth of nine children of Leo and Elizabeth (Hoock) Jehl. She attended St. Peter's school, and graduated with honors from Central Catholic High School in 1943. After graduation she worked at General Electric. On June 1, 1946, she married Joseph F. Doust, Sr. Mary devoted her life to caring for her husband and 10 children. She will always be remembered for the special and beautiful love she gave to her youngest daughter, Maria. Mary was an active member of St. Patrick's parish, volunteering to help wherever needed as a member of the Rosary Society. She also worked as a volunteer at St. Joseph's Hospital. Her kind, gentle, and giving spirit touched everyone she met. She lived a life of acceptance, gratitude, and compassion, especially for the sick and those with special needs. Mary lived to love God, her family and friends, and to serve others before self. Surviving are her daughter, Rosalie (David) Farrell, Fort Wayne; sons Thomas (Roberta) Doust, Richard (Joyce) Doust, Joseph (Deborah) Doust, Jr., David (Lynette) Doust, John Doust, Michael (Shannon) Doust, all of Fort Wayne; James Doust of Chicago; sister Elizabeth (Harvey) Stump, Henderson, NV; 17 grandchildren, and 17 great-children, with #18 on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Doust, Sr.; daughters Mary Ann Doust and Maria Doust; granddaughter, Jennifer Doust; parents, Leo and Elizabeth Jehl; sister Dolores Jehl, SSND; and six brothers, Paul, Richard, Joseph, Jerome, Leo Jr., and Thomas Jehl. Mass of Christian Burial is 11:30 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2016, at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 518 E. DeWald Street, Fort Wayne, with calling one hour prior, Father Tyrell J. Alles, and Fr. Vincent Wirtner officiating. Calling also from 3 to 8 p.m., Thursday, December 1, 2016, at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home, 1140 Lake Ave. Burial in Catholic Cemetery, Fort Wayne. "The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of St. Anne Randallia Place, as they have been such a wonderful part of Mary's life, and a source of help and comfort for the family."
